Individuals who are looking to apply to Christian colleges may be wondering if they can apply using an app known as the Common Application. The Common App allows college and university applicants to apply to multiple educational facilities using just one application online. This can make the application process so much easier for persons who are not sure which Christian college they would like to attend.
Locating Christian Colleges on the App
Students who are interested in applying to Christian colleges will first want to make sure that the app offers the colleges that they are considering. They can do this by navigating to the Common Application website and clicking on Explore. On the next page, users can use the search tool to search for specific schools or they can scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Specialized Mission/Religious Affiliation. Clicking on the Religious Affiliation link will allow users to browse just over 200 colleges with religious affiliations.
Narrowing a Search Result
Since the Common App offers nearly 900 colleges and universities across the United States and in 20 other countries, it can be difficult browsing through so many schools. Even persons wishing to apply to Christian colleges have more than 200 schools to choose from. Fortunately, users can narrow their searches to make their choices easier. After navigating to the Religious Affiliations link, users need only choose one or more of the categories provided on the left-hand side of the page to narrow their search further. These categories are as follows:
- Region
- First-Year Students
- Transfer Students
- Campus Setting
- Financial Aid Offered
- Type of School (public or private
- Enrollment Size
- Other Specialized Categories
Getting Started With the Common App
After prospective students find some schools that they would like to apply to, they will need to create an account with the Common Application before they can apply to Christian colleges. They can do this by clicking on the Create an Account link that can be found on the top of any webpage on the Common App website. After creating an account, users can then begin to save schools to their profile. When users have added all of the schools they are interested in, they can then complete their application by navigating to the Apply link.
Using the Site’s Other Resources
In addition to allowing users to apply to multiple colleges and universities by submitting just one entrance application, the Common App also offers several other valuable resources for college-bound students. Under the Plan link, users will find information to help them locate funding for their college education. On the Apply page, students will find information to help them write effective admissions essays. Parents will find information to help plan for their children’s education as well.
Filling out multiple college and university applications can be a tedious task. But thankfully, there is an app that can make this process a whole lot easier and quicker. When people use the Common Application to apply to Christian Colleges, they only need to fill out one application as described above.
