Ozark Christian College is a non-profit and private institution established in 1942 by Seth Wilson. As a Christian college, the school’s curriculum emphasizes a Bible-based college education. Its main goal is to train students for Christian service with the help of quality faculty members. The school also offers a distance learning program conducted entirely online.

Beliefs

Ozark Christian College president Matt Proctor points out that students enrolled in their various degree programs can be sure to gain the right quality education that will enable them to fulfill God’s purpose. He adds that the school not only encourages academic achievement but character development as well. The school’s motto is “not to be served, but to serve.”

Location

This bible college is situated in a 95-acre campus in Joplin, Missouri. The area is popularly known as The Four States. It is easily accessible from Kansas City and Branson in Missouri, Fayetteville in Arizona and Tulsa in Oklahoma. The campus has a total of 16 buildings that include 3 dorms for the males and another 3 for the females, a multi-purpose building, a chapel, the Seth Wilson library, a physical power plant and a bookstore among others.

Tuition

Tuition estimate for a full-time student for one semester is $4,500. This does not include the books, student services fee and the cost of food and accommodation on campus.

Financial Aid

Financial assistance is available to students of Ozark. This is in the form of scholarships and loans. Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding leadership, academic achievement and Christian service.

Various types of loans are also offered such as the Stafford student, parents and private loans. Students can file for a free FAFSA online to avail of the Federal Stafford loan, low interest and deferred loans through the Federal Direct Lending Program.

Academic Areas of Study

Being a Bible college, the school’s courses put emphasis on the Bible, Christian History and ministry among others. Other degrees offered are on preaching, music and worship, youth and children, missions and church planting, education, business, nursing and deaf ministry.

Primary Accreditation

Ozark Christian College secured its accreditation from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) in 1985. The school is also affiliated with the Restoration Movement.

Athletic Teams

This college is also recognized for its athletics programs that aim to help students develop their physical fitness. Its teams are part of the Midwest Christian College Conference. A member of the National Christian College Association of Athletics (NCAA), Ozark Christian College is known for its team called the Ambassadors which has won four national championships as well as other honors. Sports offered in the institution are volleyball for women, basketball and soccer for both men and women and baseball for men.

It is the belief of the institution that athletes use their God-given talents to glorify Christ similar to what preachers and singers do.
