Founded in 1889, Saint Leo University is a private not for profit liberal arts university that follows the Roman Catholic tradition. Although its main campus is in Saint Leo in Florida, it also operates 17 continuing education centers in seven states and military base centers. This university offers various degree programs from the associate and baccalaureate to the master’s and certificate programs with focus on liberal arts. It is the first Catholic college in Florida and also one of the first universities in the U.S. that provided a distance learning program to its students.

Location of Saint Leo University
Saint Leo University is specifically situated on State Road in Saint Leo, Florida. The campus has a health and wellness center, a learning resource center, the Stephen Herrmann mail center and student community center. Security is in place round the clock, 7 days a week to protect the well being of its students, faculty and staff.
Tuition
The annual cost of studying at Saint Leo University for full-time undergraduates is estimated at $27,990. This is for students living inside the campus and already includes the other fees as well as room and board. The cost for those living outside the campus is $18,870.
Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Services at SLU assists students in finding the right financial resources to support their college education. It provides grants, scholarships, loans and a work study program. It also offers various payment options every semester to make it more affordable to students and their families.

SLU accommodates more than 15,000 students not only in its main campus but as well as at its military bases and community colleges.
Academic Areas of Study
SLU’s online learning program, meanwhile, started in 1999 and became one of the first in the U.S.
Primary Accreditation
The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools granted SLU’s accreditation allowing it to offer associate, bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees. The university’s School of Business is also accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education while its social work degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education.
Saint Leo University Athletic Team
The Lions are what the SLU athletic teams are known. The university takes pride in its 16 teams that compete in the NCAA Division II spots such as baseball, basketball, lacrosse, cross country, golf soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball and tennis. The Lions have, so far, gained numerous achievements and the institution has been recognized as having one of America’s premier athletic programs.
SLU’s athletic teams are part of the Sunshine State Conference and the Deep South Lacrosse Conference.
